
Year in Review 2021: Google & YouTube
On top of the many projects we had with our customers and agencies, here are 5 of the external initiatives that I focused most on:
1. DIGITAL EDUCATION FOR EVERYONE
– hundreds of educational sessions “Atelierul Digital” for students, in partnership with 10+ universities, and courses for future developers with Scoala Informala de IT;
– over 1,200 scholarships for Google career certifications, allocated with Leaders and EOS;
– Classroom and other free educational tools for thousands of schools, hundred of thousands of pupils and teachers;
2. HELPING SMBs
– 1:1 consultations and trainings in digital through Google for SMBs;
– partnership with CONAF to support women-led businesses, and a new grant for Digital Nation to help smaller businesses from less developed areas;
– awarded the most appreciated companies in hospitality with the “Golden Review” (Recenzia de Aur);
3. HELPFUL AND NEW PRODUCTS (GPay, YT Shorts)
– we launched locally the GPay app for a better payment experience, and YouTube Shorts for content creators;
– we continued to grow the YouTube ecosystem, and also to adapt products like Search and Maps to provide even more helpful information;
4. SUPPORT FOR STARTUPS
– we co-organized dedicated programs for 100+ startups with Techcelerator, Launch, and StepFWD;
– we partnered with the local tech events: Spotlight/ How to Web and Techsylvania;
5. ONLINE SAFETY
– we accelerated “Eroii Internetului” and launched family hub to help even more kids and families to be safe online;
– additional .Org grant of $300,000 for AdFaber to continue their educational projects;
